Series Info

CATEGORIES
Skaters compete in ability levels. Categories are determined on the event race day and are based on an individual time-trial at each series. There are categories for kids including 7 and under and 8 to 12 years old.

POINTS
Times for each distance of the ability level groups will be ranked as one complete listing. Skaters will earn points based on their time ranking, regardless of group level, with the fastest time earning 35 points, and the slower times receiving points in descending order regardless of the total number of participants. Points for the time trial as well as the other ability group race(s) will be added to determine the overall individual ranking for each stage. If there are more that 35 registered skaters for a stage, the points will correspond to the number of skaters that compete. In the event of a tie at the end of a stage, the process to break the tie is: if a skater has not completed a distance, the tie will go to the skater who has completed most number of races. If all distances have been completed, times will be added and the skater with the lower total time will break the tie.

The final series rankings will be based on the total of the 3 best overall points from any stage. In the event of a tie, the times recorded for the 3 best overall points used will be totaled. The skater with the lowest total time will break the tie. In the event of a tie between two skaters, the total number of stages and races completed will break the tie.
